Lucinda Woodruff

As one of just three licensed female racehorse trainers in the Western Cape, Lucinda Woodruff is breaking boundaries in a traditionally male-dominated sport. She is the driving force behind one of South Africa’s fastest-growing racing yards, achieving immediate success at feature race level, the highest tier of competition, and maintaining in the top 10% of highest win percentages in the country. 

Leading a team of 33 and managing over 70 local and international clients, Lucinda combines strategy, intuition and deep horsemanship to consistently deliver results at the highest level. Her vision extends beyond personal success; she is determined to show other women that it can be done. Lucinda believes the fastest way to create change is to be the example, and through her achievements, she continues to inspire a new generation of women to pursue their place in racing. 

When she is not leading her yard to victory, Lucinda channels her competitive spirit into showjumping, recently placing third at the 2025 South African Showjumping Championships at the highest level.
