Women in AI

Women in AI Southern Africa (WAI SA) is the regional chapter of the global non-profit, Women in AI (WAI). Our mission is to increase the representation and participation of women and gender minorities in Southern Africa’s artificial intelligence and technology sectors.

Our community-driven chapter, aligned with WAI’s global vision for an inclusive AI ecosystem, works to inspire, educate, and empower the next generation of AI leaders. We advance this mission through targeted educational workshops, mentorship programs, panel discussions, and networking events designed to upskill participants and bridge the gender gap and foster inclusive innovation.

WAI SA is an inclusive community and welcomes participation from all genders, recognizing that building a fair and unbiased AI future requires diverse perspectives and collaborative dialogue. We invite individuals and organizations to get involved by volunteering, attending events, mentoring, sponsoring initiatives, or partnering on projects that help women and minorities thrive in AI.
