A third-generation minibus operator in Manenberg, he combines deep cultural insight with innovative leadership and technology to drive economic and mobility inclusion in Africa’s transport sector. Imtiyaaz’s work is driven by a mission to modernise mobility and build financial systems that connect and uplift underserved communities, creating a future where technology not only moves people but brings them closer.

Since launching Loop in 2021, Imtiyaaz has guided the company to earn multiple
accolades, including South Africa’s Social Enterprise of the Year (2024) and Best
Mobility & Logistics Startup in Southern Africa. Under his leadership, Loop has partnered with Visa to expand secure digital payments in underserved communities.

Recognised globally, Imtiyaaz has been selected as a South African delegate in the Y20, the youth engagement group of the G20, influencing youth-driven innovation and inclusive economic growth on the world stage.
