Jamie Thurston Wyngaard

Jamie Thurston Wyngaard is a dynamic Capetonian with a vast background ranging from Biotechnology to media and Fintech. He is seen as a thought leader in design thinking through his development of enhanced agile business validation techniques.  

Jamie has numerous awards for entrepreneurship and social responsibility along with the United nation JCI Top Outstanding Young persons award for Entrepreneurship and Economics 2023.  

He is recognized as University of the Western Cape Student Achiever of the Year 2011 and current National Vice President of GoldenKey International Honorary Society. Jamie continues to pursue his drive to alleviate poverty by being a mentor for TeenEntrepreneur.co.za where he encourages and assists with the development of an entrepreneurial mindset within youth. 

Networking and being customer-centric has always been one of his strengths, which proves useful in the success of projects like Feenix.org, the crowdfunding platform for students that raised over R170 Million to date, and Bettr.app, a new digital bank currently being polished for launch to the public.  

He is the founder of WeAreTheAgency.co.za, a concept development agency where they ideate and strategize new business ventures. The Agency provides free resources to further assist in new media marketing and business operations. The Agency is a partner to the NGO Socialhack.co.za where they assist deserving businesses with a full business makeover for free.  

With his big interest in food, Jamie founded and cooks for BowTime, a bespoke catering company made famous for their Sunday Lunch events and  opulent BowTime Brownies. BowTime Brownies are crafted from sustainably farmed cocoa with a caramel fudge filling and crispy crust embedded with roasted hazelnuts and milk chocolate bits.  

Jamie’s current focus is Looptaxi.co.za, an award winning, impact tech company that has digitized payments  and  the minibus taxi industry. He is the Co- founder and Chief Experience Officer overseeing how Loop solves issues in the mobility and payments space for commuters, drivers and government.
