Dr Kate Klaasen
is a general practitioner who practices Functional Medicine, appreciating the interconnectedness of our body’s systems, and using an approach that is highly individualised, going beyond simply medicating symptoms.
She completed a Bachelor of Science in Human Physiology and Psychology from The University of Cape Town in 2012.
She then completed her Medical MBBCh from The University of Witwatersrand in 2016.
While completing her government service, she fell in love with the art of preventative medicine and getting more involved with her patients and community.
In 2020, she indulged her passion in food, working in the kitchen of a well-known Cape Town-based chef. As well as achieving excellence in Nutrition Science through Stanford Medicine. Dr Kate is passionate about Gut health and role that it has in overall systemic health.
Dr Kate is currently completing her Fellowship in Anti-aging, Metabolic and Functional Medicine through the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine.
Her specific interests lie in hormonal balancing, menopausal health, gut health, and burnout management.
She is passionate about continued learning and aims to have her patients leaving the rooms feeling more empowered and able to take control of their own health.
