Ambassador Lavina Rao (Ramkissoon) is a distinguished advocate for responsible artificial intelligence (AI), dedicated to harnessing technology for the greater good and unlocking Africa’s potential. Recognised among the Top 10 Leaders advancing AI globally, she integrates her expertise in psychology, technology, and economics to provide a unique and insightful perspective on AI development. 

Ambassador Rao plays a pivotal role in shaping AI policies and ethical frameworks across the continent. Her commitment to conscious technology integration is evident through her leadership positions, including her role as an advisor at the African Union and her ambassadorship at the Institute for Ethics in Artificial Intelligence (IEAI) at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). 

Ambassador Rao’s dedication extends to mentoring startups and fostering innovation within the tech community. She has been a finalist for Women in AI by VentureBeat and has initiated funds aimed at supporting emerging tech ventures. Her passion for humanising technology and promoting ethical AI practices continues to inspire and drive meaningful change in the global tech landscape.
