Naz Fredericks-Maharaj
Legacy of Leadership & Industry Innovation
Naz’s career is defined by her ability to pioneer new initiatives and disrupt traditional norms:
- Youngest Secretary of the Harley Owners’ Group Association in Cape Town, an early testament to her leadership and ability to navigate male-dominated spaces.
- Harley-Davidson Achievements:
- Positive Employee Award
- Employee of the Year
- GM for Africa
- Best Practice for Africa
- Best Licensee Start-Up for Africa
After her tenure at Harley-Davidson Cape Town, Naz extended her influence by working with start-ups, freelancers, and entrepreneurs as the General Manager of four co-working spaces in Cape Town. She later transitioned into freelancing and consulting for Harley-Davidson Africa and EMEA, providing strategic brand, marketing, and retail expertise across multiple global dealerships, including ROC Harley-Davidson, Harley-Davidson Bloemfontein, and Harley-Davidson West-Turkey. Her work involved global team training, retail strategy development, and store remodeling.
Championing Women & Breaking Barriers
In 2019, Naz conceptualized and launched Women in Gaming, a groundbreaking campaign that addressed the lack of female representation in the pan-African gaming industry, where women made up only 20 percent. This initiative:
- Elevated the role of women in the sector
- Created new industry opportunities
- Shifted the narrative for women in gaming
- Earned Naz the prestigious Best Marketing Campaign of the Year Award
Building on this success, she went on to spearhead the WomenIN (WiN) portfolio, a cross-sector empowerment initiative dedicated to fostering collaboration, driving impact, and creating a global network of women leaders.
The WomenIN Mission: Breaking Barriers & Building Legacies
Naz believes that success is not about individual victories but about paving the way for others. Through WomenIN, she champions an ecosystem where women don’t just survive in male-dominated industries—they lead, innovate, and redefine the rules.
“Collaboration is the key to lasting impact. When one woman succeeds, we all do.”
Looking Ahead: WomenIN Festival 2025
Naz is driven by the power of collective energy and transformation. As WomenIN gears up for its biggest festival yet, she is excited to witness the groundbreaking collaborations, industry-shifting conversations, and the powerful moments where women realize their full potential.
For Naz, WomenIN is not just a portfolio—it’s a movement that will outlive all of us, creating impact for generations to come
