WiN Festival Speaker
NOMZAMO MATODLANA
Nomzamo Matodlana is deeply committed to serving others and has built her career in human resource development, with experience in both corporate and community sectors. Driven by the Ubuntu ethic of empowerment, she specialises in unlocking individual potential to promote personal independence and combat poverty.
With a strong background in human resource management, Nomzamo has made a significant impact in the NPO space, having led over 200 community healthcare workers, supported more than 600 informal traders, and empowered youth from six Cape Town townships.
As the Cape Town Branch Manager of Taking Care of Business (TCB), Nomzamo oversees smooth operations and plays a key role in identifying, developing, and empowering unemployed mothers and fathers. By helping them become socially and financially independent, she contributes to strengthening township economies through the recognition and utilisation of community assets.
Nomzamo’s work is guided by TCB’s theory of change and the principle of Ubuntu, “I am because we are.” This philosophy aligns with TCB’s social enterprise model, which integrates circular economy principles to drive both social development and waste reduction, empowering those who are raising the next generation.
