The Womandla Foundation is a South African non-profit organization dedicated to empowering African women and girls through mentorship, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) advocacy, entrepreneurship, and development. By collaborating with other organizations, Womandla promotes social innovation, education, and capacity building to bridge the gender gap.
Entrepreneurship: Womandla encourages women and young girls in South Africa to pursue entrepreneurship as an alternative career path and economic driver.
Mentorship: Believing in the power of representation, Womandla provides tailored mentorship programs for young women in secondary education.
STEAM Advocacy: Addressing systemic challenges like unequal access to quality education and societal stereotypes, Womandla’s STEAM program empowers girls aged 15-18 from disadvantaged communities.
The MENstruation Foundation, is a nonprofit organisation that fights period poverty and gives women dignity. Girls in South Africa miss school and stay at home because of menstruation. The culture of silence around menstruation limits the ability of women and girls to equally participate in society. It undermines their social status and self-esteem. We give women the right to go to school, play sport, go to work and participate in life despite not being able to afford sanitary products.
