The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) is South Africa’s national public broadcaster, established in 1936, and operates a broad portfolio of television channels and radio stations serving the entire country with content in all major languages. As a Schedule 2 “Major Public Entity” under the Public Finance Management Act, its mandate is to inform, educate, and entertain the public, delivering high-quality media across platforms while remaining fiscally sustainable and digitally modern.
