AD-BOARD MEMBER

Tina Angelos

Tina Angelos is the dynamic Managing Director of Allied Valve Specialists (AVS), a trailblazer in South Africa’s industrial sector. Fondly known to her team as “Kaptein,” Tina is redefining what it means to lead with purpose, blending business strategy with human-centered impact to drive innovation and inclusivity in one of the most traditionally rigid industries.
Under her leadership, AVS has evolved into more than a valve supplier — it’s a movement. With a cradle-to-grave, service-led culture and a heartbeat grounded in CARE, PRIDE, and TRUST, Tina has created an organisation that sees valves not just as products, but as the lifeblood of vital operations — symbolic of strength, flow, and sustainability. As she puts it, “Just as the valves in our hearts keep life moving, AVS valves ensure the safe, sustainable function of plants that serve 62 million South Africans.”
A passionate advocate for safe and inclusive workspaces, Tina draws from her expertise in addressing Gender-Based Violence (GBV) to establish workplace policies that prioritise dignity, accountability, and empowerment. She brings heart into the art of leadership — ensuring that every team member feels valued, heard, and safe.

What excites you about being a part of the WomenIN Ad Board?

Being part of the WomenIN Advisory Board is a calling to contribute not only my voice and leadership but also my heart and experience.

It excites me to help build a space where women can rise—together. WomenIN is not just a festival, it’s a force for intergenerational change. I’m particularly passionate about bringing in perspectives from industry, entrepreneurship, and systems thinking to ensure that the movement is inclusive, grounded, and truly transformative.

And authentic. Authenticity means courageous enough to share the truth and be supported when showing your vulnerabilities

At the recent WomenIN Energy conference, I was struck by the strength and intelligence in the room. The gathering of women from diverse backgrounds and sectors accelerated the depth of conversation around women in business, society, communities—and the home.

One topic in particular became crystal clear: GBV must no longer be limited to Gender-Based Violence—it must also include Gender-Based Violation. This broader definition resonates deeply with the WomenIN mission of a holistic approach, one that prioritizes the physical, emotional, and psychological well-being of women. We must be brave enough to have these difficult yet vital conversations if we are truly going to grow this movement and leave no woman behind.

Why is it important for women to collaborate?

When women collaborate, we dismantle the myth of scarcity. We move from surviving in silos to thriving in solidarity. Collaboration unlocks collective intelligence, shared resilience, and generational wisdom.

It also models a radically different way of leading—one grounded in empathy, partnership, and equity. Together, we don’t just rise. We rise differently.

No one is excluded.
