Advocacy for Women, Breaking BarriersQ&A WiN With Miss Tasmin Moodley 31 Jan1. What inspired you to pursue a career in the energy industry? The energy sector in South Africa offers amazing opportunities to be innovative, especially as we move towards more sustainable and accessible energy sources. It’s an incredible time to be part of the energy industry because these are truly exciting times! 2. What does breaking barriers and bias mean to you? To me, breaking barriers and bias means having the courage to step into spaces where I might feel out of place and showing myself that I truly belong there. It’s about not doubting myself—whether these doubts come from others or from myself—and bringing my uniqueness to the job. It’s not about making a statement; it’s about quietly but confidently establishing my place in this field and encouraging other women to do the same. 3. What would you say to a 13-year-old YOU? I’d tell my 13-year-old self to not be afraid of the path you’re on, even if you don’t know where it leads to. God will in His providence, place people in your life along the way, who will guide you. Be kinder to yourself and know that your failures will one day turn into your greatest strength. 4. If you could be a superhero, who would you be?
